Reader expresses deep apprectation for MTOTSA residents

I lived in West Long Branch for 38 years and through visits and the Atlanticville have kept abreast of the eminent domain issue in Long Branch.

Having just returned from my church's second Katrina relief trip to Long Beach, Miss., I have a deeper appreciation for the feelings of the MTSOTA group in Long Branch and thought of them often.

Our team was asked to rebuild a home, which never had indoor plumbing, of a couple who loved it and would not allow it to be torn down. So, the roof was jacked up, exterior walls removed and rebuilt, new windows, doors and floors installed, leaving it new and vinyl-sided with grateful owners who could leave their FEMA trailer and "go home."

There is no comparison between that and the spotless nest Anna De Faria loves and calls home on Marine Terrace.

I understand more deeply that home ... is home ... is home.
