Club encourages manatee adoption for Easter

Save the Manatee Club, 500 N. Maitland Ave., Maitland, Fla., is encouraging residents to adopt an endangered manatee this Easter.

There are 31 manatees to choose from in the club's Florida adoption programs at Blue Spring State Park, Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, and in the Tampa Bay area. Fee is $25 and includes an adoption certificate, manatee photo, biography, membership handbook, a subscription to the club's newsletter, The Manatee Zone, and the bimonthly e-newsletter, Paddle Tales.

A $35 fee allows entitles each new member who joins the program online to a plush manatee.
