Shore Athletic Club names its 2007 award-winners New Jersey high school state cross country champions Craig Forys of Colts Neck and Danielle Tauro of Southern Regional were among the track and field athletes recognized by the Shore Athletic Club. Forys and Tauro, whose talents carried over to the track where they were All-Americans, were named the Boy's and Girl's High School Athlete of the Year at the club's annual banquet. Amanda and Katy Trotter, the Red Bank Regional twins, who helped Stanford win the NCAA cross country title in the fall and in the spring were members of Stanford's national record-setting 4x1,500-meter relay team, were the Women's College Athletes of the Year. They set the relay record at the Penn Relays. Monmouth University javelin thrower Bobby Smith was the Shore AC's Men's College Athlete of the Year. High jumper Tora Harris, the 2006 USA Outdoor champion, won the Shore AC's Johnny Hayes Memorial Award as the Shore Athletic Club Athlete of the Year. Harris, a 2002 graduate of Princeton University, was a 2004 U.S. Olympian and has a career best of 7-7 3/4. He was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. and No. 8 in the world in '06. Oneithea 'Neni' Lewis of New York, was named the Women's Athlete of the Year. She is a Masters national record holder for the indoor weight throw. The Shore Athletic Club's 2007 Hall of Fame Class includes Frank Haviland of Wall, John Tullo of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Colin Beer of Princeton Junction, Gerard Langlois of Old Bridge and posthumously Irwin Bernstein of Westfield. Sanford 'Sandy' Kalb of Howell, a high school star runner at Lakewood and NJSIAA track and field official, won the Shore AC's Lifetime Trustee Ward. Eatontown's James Robbins won the Wisner Brothers Memorial Ward for Distinguished Service to the sport of track and field. Freehold Township's Isabel Keeley won the Elliott Denman Award for Distinguished Service to the Shore Athletic Club. The Dr. George Sheehan Memorial Award Shore AC Men's Distance Runner of the Year was Jeremy Pilkington of Allenhurst and Long Branch's Christine Clifton was the Women's Distance Runner of the Year. The Bob Roggy Memorial Award Shore AC Field Athlete of the Year was Tuan Wreh of Collingwood for the men and Sigita Juodvaltyke of Elizabeth for the women. The men's Racewalker of the Year was John Soucheck of Little Silver. The Master's Distance Runners of the Year were Lauren Rhatigan of Ship Bottom for the Women and Mike Mooney of Jackson for the Men. Ajee Wilson and Andre Davis of Neptune, were the Rodney Craig Memorial Award winners as the Youth Athletes of the Year. Winner of the Matthew Stuper Memorial Award as the Young Racewalker of the Year was Richard Luetchau of Richard Stockton College, and the Don and Marie Henry Memorial Award for the Shore AC's Women's Racewalker of the Year was Maria Paul of Long Branch. Woodbridge's Phil Bujalski was the Shore AC Men's Masters Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Other Shore AC honors were: Family of the Year, the O'Dowd Family of Colts Neck; Rookie of the Year, Nicholas Price, Conshohocken, Pa.; Friend of the Year, The Shore Runner, Pier Village, Long Branch; Team of the Year, Women's Masters Cross Country Team; Team of the Year, Men's Masters Relay Team; Humanitarian of the Year, Bob Both, Wall Township; President Mr. Walter Mac Gowan Award, Bob Bazley, West Long Branch; Most Improved Athlete, Jim Segal, Holmdel; Team Spirit Award, Dave Hoch, South Brunswick; Coach of the Year, Walter MacGowan, Spring Lake,; 'Get Up and Go' Award, Brian Hill, Middletown; Special Achievement Awards, Dr., Eugene Bradford, Caldwell, Ron Salvio, Millstone Township and John Fredericks, Brick Township/ Orlando, Fl.
