Tracey Johnson, Belshaw Avenue in Shrewsbury Township, is filling an unexpired one-year term and is running to retain her seat for a three-year term.

Four candidates are hoping to win one of four seats on the Shrewsbury Borough Board of Education on April 17. Three of the seats are for three-year terms and one is for a one-year term.

Of the four candidates seeking seats on the Shrewsbury Borough Elementary School Board of Education, three are incumbents and one is a first-time candidate.

The incumbents are Lisa Barnes of Sycamore Avenue, Peter J. Meyer of Beech Tree Lane, and James Halpern of Samara Drive. Kelly Kachinski of Beech Tree Lane is running for a seat on the board for the first time.

There is no contest for seats on the Monmouth Regional School District's Board of Education, which includes Tinton Falls, Eatontown and Shrewsbury Township.
