Shore Players to present 'Pirates of Penzance'

Taking a cue from the Oscars, the Shore Players will roll out the red carpet for the first performance of the musical "Pirates of Penzance" at Shore Regional High School, West, Long Branch.

On Friday, the theater company will hold an opening night premiere, complete with red carpet, searchlights, photographers and refreshments.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a preshow reception at the high school located on Route 36. Guests will be escorted to the entrance of the school where they will walk the red carpet into the theater. There will be an afterparty with the cast and crew.

The cost for the evening is $30. In addition to opening night, performances will take place March 3 and 9 at 8 p.m., March 4 at 2 p.m. and March 10 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets for these performances are $12. To reserve tickets or for more information, call (732) 222-9300 ext. 255.
