Residents urged to sign funding reform petition

No matter what your political affiliation, I urge all taxpayers to sign the state education funding reform petition available at your local town hall. This petition is asking Gov. Jon Corzine to change and reapportion state education funding, thus lowering local property taxes.

Even though I am a registered democrat, Corzine must understand that the taxpayers of New Jersey need relief now.

Since the Board of Education accounts for more than 50 percent of our property tax dollars, Corzine must appropriate more state funding toward tax reform.

Although I live in Ocean Township (Monmouth County), I would personally like to thank the 30th District officials, Sen. Robert W. Singer, Assemblyman Joseph R. Malone III, and Assemblyman Ronald S. Dancer for introducing this petition across the state. I would also like to thank Jackson Township's Mayor Mark Seda for creating and initiating this very important project.
