Exhibit asks, Can spring be far behind?

"One Poppy"
Monmouth Beach artist John Salvi is "Chasing the Blues Away" with a group of contemporary, abstract paintings exhibited at The Art of Skincare in Spring Lake.

Salvi's paintings reprise the warm hues of spring and summer with rich colors and sweeping gestures.

According to Salvi, the vibrant colors of the acrylic paintings are a counterpoint to the winter's chill and remind viewers that, "if winter is here, can spring be far behind?"

A meet the artist reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, from 6-9 p.m., at The Art of Skincare, 1115 Third Ave., Spring Lake.

The exhibit will continue through March 28. For more information, contact e-mail to johnsalvi@msn.com or call (908) 433-4203.
