Evelyn Bloodgood Crowhurst

Mrs.. Crowhurst, 86, of North Hutchinson Island, Fla., and formerly Monmouth Beach, died Jan. 31, 2007, in Florida. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., she was raised in Trenton, and resided in Rumson prior to relocating to Monmouth Beach. She was employed at Eastern Aircraft, Trenton Division, during World War II, and helped produce the U.S. Navy's torpedo bomber the Avenger. She also received a certificate of excellence from the U.S. Navy for her service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Rumson. She enjoyed travel, and animals. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Elizabeth Bloodgood Woolley; and her husband, Harry L. Crowhurst. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Jane and Butch Conk of North Hutchinson Island, Fla. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.

Maryann Menna

Mrs. Menna, 84, of Long Branch, died Feb. 2, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a lifelong resident of Red Bank, prior to relocating to Long Branch five years ago. She was a seamstress for Sigmund Eisner, Red Bank, during World War II. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She enjoyed time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathy of Red Bank; a daughter, Linda Alberto of Long branch; a brother, Thomas Mazzaroppi of the Belford section of Middletown; two sisters, Bessie LoPresti of California, and Alice Kaney of Ohio; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony's Church. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to SPCA, 260 Wall St., Eatontown 07724.

Frank V. Zampello

Mr. Zampello, 81, of the Wayside section of Ocean Township, died Jan. 29, 2007, at St. Barnabas Hospice, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was born in Perth Amboy. He was a retired principal at Greenbrook (N.J.) High School, where he was employed from 1970-82. Prior to that, he was principal at Keyport High School from 1963-70, and also served as vice principal, the physical education teacher, and driver's education teacher. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. He spoke about his war experiences at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. He was active in sports, and as a coach, led the Keyport High School basketball team to win the 1957 Shore Conference Championships. He enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Tinnerino Zampello; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Ellen Zampello of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzan and James McCarthy of Eatontown; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Edith Zampello of Keyport; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Feb. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements are by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1 Union St., Robbinsville 08691-4183.

Catherine V. O'Brien Fox

Mrs. Fox, 80, of Hazlet, died Jan. 30, 2007, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Keansburg prior to relocating to Hazlet 39 years ago. She was a retired bookkeeper at Lord & Taylor, Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Fox in 1988. She is survived by four daughters, Ellen A. Fox and Cathleen B. Fox, both of Hazlet, Beth A. Willhelm of Long Branch, and Suzanne Wentworth of Toms River; a son and daughter-in-law, William Buckley and Dawn Brandao-Buckley of Hazlet; a sister, Eleanor Joerger of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
