ANF seeks to serve community
The Long Branch-based All Neighbors Foundation (ANF) nonprofit organization held its first meeting on Jan. 17 at the Brookdale Community College Learning Center on Broadway.
Director and founder Marco Diaz said ANF was created in March 2004 under its original name, "Children Are Our Future" to provide services for the children of Monmouth County.
Diaz said the group's mission has expanded to help people of all ages who struggle with diabetes.
In researching the group's mission, Diaz said he gathered information from various agencies and residents in the city and learned that not only are people in need of diabetic services, but they are also in need of translation services and services that organize recreational activities for children.
"It is my hope that with the growth of the ANF, we will give inspiration and guidance to the community in need," Diaz said in a press release. "The ANF is here to help the people. It is believed that this can be achieved through love, peace, happiness, humility, honor, friendship and unity."
The goal of the initial meeting was to network to obtain donations to fund the cost of completing paperwork for applications as well as to find grant writers and volunteers, according to Diaz.
Diaz added that the group also needs office space.
He said he is planning to establish a four-member board of trustees to carry out the mission of the group.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 20. For more information, e-mail Diaz at a.n.f.@hotmail.com.
