Project calls for 22 homes on Liberty St. Planning Board will hear application at Feb. 20 meeting BY CHRISTINE VARNO Staff Writer
LONG BRANCH - The Planning Board is expected to hear an application this week for the construction of 22 single-family homes on Liberty Street.
The applicant, Troutman Port and Liberty Circle, Long Branch, is seeking approval for a major subdivision.
The applicant is proposing to subdivide four existing lots into 23 lots, and plans call for 22 single-family homes to be constructed on 22 of the lots, according to the application on file at the Planning Office.
The remaining lot will serve as a pocket park and detention area, according to the application.
The applicant appeared before the Planning Board at the Jan. 16 monthly meeting to announce they would be presenting testimony for a major subdivision project.
Testimony for the proposed project is expected to begin at the Feb. 20 Planning Board meeting, which begins at 8 p.m.
Currently, six multifamily dwellings exist on the approximately 214,500-square-foot site, which is in an R-4 single-family residential zone.
The lots at the project site are owned by the applicant, according to the application.
Principal in Troutman Port and Liberty Circle is Tom Yaccarino, Ocean Township.
The applicant also proposes to change the existing street at the project site and plans call for a new street to be constructed, according to the application.
The applicant is being represented by attorney Gordon N. Gemma, and plans for the project were prepared by Tom Giglio, engineer with Landmark Surveying and Engineering, Avon-by-the-Sea.
