Reservation deadline Feb. 2 for SPCA brunch

Monmouth County SPCA, Eatontown, will hold its annual Valentine's brunch Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Navesink Country Club, Navesink River Road, Navesink section of Middletown. Deadline for reservations is Feb. 2.

The event will feature a mimosa, champagne or a bloody Mary; cash bar; and raffle drawings for gift baskets such as an autographed copy of the bestseller "Marley and Me" by John Grogan. Tickets are $60 each. Proceeds help defray the cost of caring for lost, abused and abandoned animals at the SPCA.

at SCAN begin Feb. 7

Representatives from Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, will present "Keeping Your Mind Sharp" Feb. 7 from 1-3 p.m. at SCAN Learning Center, Monmouth Mall, Eatontown.

"Early Heart Attack Care" will be presented by Jennifer L. Waxler, D.O., chairman of Monmouth's emergency services, Feb. 21 from 1-3 p.m.

"Surgical and Non-Surgical Treatment of Hip and Knee Arthritis" will be presented by Arthur K. Mark, M.D., of Monmouth's orthopedic surgery department, Feb. 28 from 1-3 p.m.

Registration is required for the above, which are free to SCAN members. Membership is open to individuals age 50 and older. To register, call (732) 542-1325.
