Handler trains dogs and small animals for commercial work

      Lisa Christman lives a dog lover's ideal life. As the lead trainer and handler for the New York-based All Creatures Great and Small animal advertising agency, she not only takes her dogs to work with her, they often get paid for the day.

      First Avenue Playhouse will hold auditions Sunday, Jan. 21, and Monday, Jan. 22, for an April production of "Don't Drink the Water" by Woody Allen. Needed are men and woman 20s-60s including Walter and Marion, a couple in their 50s; Susan, their daughter, 20s; and Axel Magee, 30s.

Exhibit connects the arts
      'Art for the Arts" opened Saturday at Laurel Tracey Gallery in Red Bank.Works by four painters are included in the show: Lucy Kalian, Evelyn Leavens, Scott Redden and Jon Peters. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Two River Theater in Red Bank.

Library hosts art society exhibit
      The Art Society of Monmouth County Anniversary Art Show will run through Jan. 29 at the West Long Branch Public Library, 95 Poplar Ave. Hours at the library are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.
