Kuehl ranked sixth in country in discus

Former Monmouth Regional great Adam Kuehl is ranked No. 6 in the country in the men's discus by Track and Field News.

Now a junior at the University of Arizona, Kuehl was runner-up at the NCAA Championships and seventh at the U.S. nationals. His top throw of 2006 was 209-7 - No. 26 on the world list.

Kuehl was a multiple State Group champion while at Monmouth and set the still-standing Shore Conference record in the discus (209-9). He won the Penn Relays and Golden West titles his senior year.

Red Bank Regional grad Katy Trotter, who helped Stanford University women's cross country team win the NCAA cross country championship last fall, made the yearly list of fastest U.S. times of 2006 in the 1,500 meters (4:41.11) and 3,000 (9:12.36). Both marks were the 21st best by an American.

Trotter, a senior and captain of the women's cross country team with twin sister Amanda, has won three NCAA team cross country titles with Stanford. She has also earned multiple All-American honors in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field.
