Another bridge to nowhere

Nowhere, meaning both Route 36 and Sandy Hook Park, are both one-laners each way. Where then, is the unimpeded traffic to go?

The only change the local residents will see from the proposed $140 million fiasco is:

1. Owners of large boats will not have to wait for the drawbridge to open and

2. Sandy Hook Park will fill up and close an hour earlier on summer weekends, dumping excess traffic on to Route 36 south.

Right now, the only respite the citizens of north Sea Bright get in the weekend traffic is when the bridge opens and we get a break in the southbound flow so we can get onto the highway!

The proposed bridge will keep us trapped in our own driveways.

The next assumption one must make is that after the bureaucrats create this mess, they will then cry out for a widening of Route 36. Eminent domain! More work for the contractors. More cream to skim. The lifeblood of the bureaucracy!

To find the criminals, follow the money.
