Training program for marathoners

LONG BRANCH - A marathon training program will be held starting Jan. 21 at Natural Healthcare Center on West End Court to prepare runners for the 11th annual N.J. Marathon to be held April 29 in Long Branch.

Local marathoner and running coach Steve Loder will offer his EnduraFIT Marathon Training Course through a comprehensive 14-week training program.

The strength and flexibility training sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

The orientation and information meeting for the course will be held Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Natural Healthcare Center.

A presentation will also be given by local wheelchair marathon competitor Jacqui Kapinowski.

Donations collected to sponsor the marathon training team members will benefit local residents with neurological disorders.
