Wells would save buildings, not bridge

I was furious reading your interview with Richard Wells, as he tried to justify his support of the demolition of our community’s beautiful drawbridge.

In his noble quest to preserve the historic buildings on Sandy Hook, he argues for demolishing the historic bridge down the street, for better traffic flow to his own facility. If you ask me, the views to and from the historic Twin Lights are just as important as anything he’s working to protect.

What’s really going on is something he was perfectly candid about when he testified to the Historic Sites Council in Trenton in October.

He said he wanted to squeeze as much money as he could for Sandy Hook out of this massive bridge replacement budget.

Good job exposing him.
