Politics behind removal of concordance director

We live in this lovely setting with the ocean as our backdrop, and our towns and communities are devalued by what appears to be political maneuvering.

A hard-working woman is removed from the position of executive director of the Long Branch Concordance. No reason is given. This woman, Terri Blair, created that organization. In her wisdom and desire for the organization to be vital, powerful and effective, she created a board of directors.

I am sure she never thought politics would make it beneficial for the board to remove her. If there is not some political gain to be had, then why was she removed? The whole point of the concordance — the whole point of Terri’s hard work — was to benefit the people of Long Branch. With board members that act in this abrupt fashion, how can the concordance continue its work?

As Bill Gates has shown us, it is not necessary to have college degrees to run a business. Surely the issues facing the concordance could be better served if Terri Blair was in her role as executive director. The board and the executive director can both benefit from discussion and the sharing of ideas.

If “muscle” is flexed and one voice is silenced, is there not a loss instead of a gain?
