Dean Lee Spivey Sr.

Mr. Spivey, 47, of Neptune, died Nov. 21, 2006, at Imperial Health Care, Neptune. Born in Lexington, Ky., he was raised and resided in Middletown prior to moving to Neptune. He was a police officer employed in retail management. He is survived by his fiancee, JoAnn Reader of Neptune; two daughters and one son-in-law, Danielle and Bill Coberg of Middletown, and Jessica Spivey of Middletown; and two sons, Dean Lee Spivey Jr. of West Long Branch, and Ryan Spivey of South Amboy. Arrangements were by Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. Memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 740 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

Julius Weller

Mr. Weller of Freehold and Long Branch, died Dec. 2, 2006. He was the son of immigrants and relocated to Long Branch following World War II. He served as an engineer on construction of the AlCan Highway, in Europe with George S. Patton's Third Army, and during the Battle of the Bulge of World War II. He was a member of B'nai Brith, Jewish War Veterans, and Knights of Pythians, all Long Branch. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Gertrude Subinsky Weller; and a son-in-law, Francis LeRiche. He is survived by a daughter, Naomi LeRiche of Neptune; a son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Robyn Weller of West Hartford, Conn.; and four grandchildren. A funeral service was at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township. Memorial donations may be made to Congregation Brothers of Israel, 250 Park Ave., Elberon 07740.

Walter "Walt" Henry Bennett

Mr. Bennett, 77, of Ocean, died Nov. 30, 2006, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He resided in Belleville prior to moving to the shore area in the early 1980s. He was employed in auto sales at Book Buick, Nutley, for several years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rae; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark J. and Janice of Vernon, Walter L. and Debbie of Millstone, and Dean T. and Lisa of Milburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Peter Cherasia of Rumson; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Mary Carole Romanowski

Mrs. Romanowski, 49, of Wall, died Nov. 23, 2006, in Neptune. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Sea Girt prior to moving to Wall five years ago. She was a bartender at the Celtic Cottage, Long Branch, the past 20 years. Prior to that, she was employed at Gold Tinker Jewelers, Deal. She enjoyed the ocean, gardening, and animals. She was predeceased by her parents, Chester and Marie Teresa Tuzzio Romanowski. She is survived by her husband, Shawn McCloskey; a daughter, Jessica McInerney of Florida; a brother, Joseph Romanowski of Long Branch; a sister, Gail Infentes of Rumson; and two nephews. A memorial service was held at John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.
