Recent works by Howell at Red Bank gallery

"November View" by Elwood Howell
An exhibit of recent works by Elwood Howell will open Friday at Laurel Tracey Gallery in Red Bank.

The show of Howell's paintings will run through Nov. 30 at the gallery, located at 10 White St. An opening reception will be held Saturday, 6:30 - 9 p.m.

Howell's works revolve around a common theme of misty beaches and seasides. The show features a new series of works on paper that are floated in custom frames. Similar to his large canvases, the works on paper have a painted edge and consist of dripped and flung color under the mist of a transparent wash of blue-gray, rose-gray and green-gray acrylics. The artist captures the diffused light and mist in blue tones with a quiet and serene effect.

The show can be previewed at www.laureltraceygallery.com by clicking current exhibition. Gallery hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (732) 224-0760.
