Hearings on housing plans to be held today

FREEHOLD - The Monmouth County Community Development Program was scheduled to hold a public meeting today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Hall of Records Annex on East Main Street in Freehold.

The meeting will allow for public comment on the proposed FY 2007 Annual Action Plan projects that will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The County's FY 2007 Annual Action Plan includes proposals to fund projects by the cities of Long Branch, Asbury Park and Middletown Township through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The plan additionally includes proposals for funding the projects through the CDBG, the Home Investment Partnership Program and the Emergency Shelter Grant Program.

The projects are included in the action plan because the county's CDBG Consortium has formed a coalition with the three towns for joint funding under the Home Investment Partnership program.

Copies of the Action Plan are available at all county library branches.
