Vote for Unger and make your voice heard

I want to reach out to all those Long Branch voters that voted in the past mayoral election, but more specifically, to those registered voters that didn't.

Casting a vote is a privilege and every citizen should be casting their vote on Election Day. Your vote is never a waste! The current Schneider team barely won the mayoral election, even after spending over $190,000. That tells me that a lot of people are not happy with the current administration. Unfortunately not enough of those people came out to vote. Long Branch has approximately 14,000 registered voters and only a little over 4,000 came out to vote. That is a horrendous turnout.

People have to start standing up and making their voices heard by casting their votes. I always hear people saying you can't fight City Hall and that their one vote won't make a difference. Well believe me, one vote does matter and can make a difference.

I know because I am a home owner in a small beachfront neighborhood called MTOTSA. We have been fighting to save our homes from being demolished for a private developer, K. Hovnanian, to come in and build luxury condominiums.

Everyone told us we had no chance and couldn't fight City Hall and K. Hov, the big developer. Well, we didn't lie down and give up because it was going to be a difficult fight; we fought and will keep fighting for what we believe in.

Three and a half years later our small neighborhood is nationally known and it has phenomenal public support, not only in New Jersey, but throughout the nation. So yes, one vote can make a difference.

The Schneider Team thinks that changing the entire character of the oceanfront and isolating it from the rest of the city is somehow public use and will benefit all the residents of Long Branch. Tell them they are wrong!

We all have another chance to show the Schneider Team that we do not approve of the taking of someone's home to let a wealthier person live there. That is not public use and that is not what America stands for!

The Schneider team hand selected and appointed Jackeline Biddle to the empty seat vacated by John Zambrano. She's their candidate. It's time to stop the Schneider machine and its control over our lives. It's time for a new voice in City Hall. It's time for your voice in City Hall. Tell Schneider enough is enough. You can do that by voting for Brian Unger for City Council. I know I personally will be.
