On Campus

Erin M. Conway, a student at Ocean Township High School, has been named a semifinalist for the 2007 awards offered by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 16,000 semifinalists were chosen nationwide, and semifinalists may continue in the competition for a Merit Scholarship. Recipients are chosen based on skills, accomplishments and potential for success at the college level.

David Sambade, Fair Haven, a sophomore at St. Peter's Preparatory School, Jersey City, was recognized at the school's recent academic honors assembly, where he earned first honors for his outstanding achievement for the fourth marking period.

Kevin M. Marengo, Jason E. Molisani, Richard L. Persson, Gabriel Pham, Melissa Reese and Stephanie C. Tietz, students at Monmouth Regional High School, Tinton Falls, have been named Commended Students in the 2007 Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 34,000 commended students nationwide are being recognized for exceptional academic promise, and are among the top 5 percent of approximately 1.4 million students who entered the 2007 competition.

Lauryn A. Herchakowski, Shrewsbury, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University, Upper Montclair, where she is a senior in the athletic training education program. A graduate of Red Bank Regional High School, Little Silver, she is the daughter of Peggy and Andy Herchakowski.
