OCEAN TOWNSHIP - For the second time within a one-week period, township police arrested individuals on charges of engaging in prostitution at a day spa located in the township.

The most recent arrests occurred on Sept 27 at 9:30 p.m. at Sea Day Spa, 1209 Route 35, when police officers, as part of an ongoing investigation of the massage parlor, arrested four individuals, UU Mei Zi, 45, Lin Shun Hau, 39, Lin Shuzi, 36, females from Flushing, N.Y., and a 65-year-old male from Howell for engaging in prostitution and other charges.

On Sept. 20, police arrested two individuals on charges of engaging in prostitution at Ocean Day Spa, 3316 Sunset Ave.

Officers with the same Special Assignment Unit targeting quality-of-life issues also made the Sept. 27 arrests of the women for engaging in prostitution and maintaining a nuisance. The investigation revealed that the women were managing the spa and engaging in illegal activity. They were all released on a criminal summons.

Police also arrested a Howell man who was charged with engaging in prostitution. He was also released on a criminal summons. Additionally, officers seized $4,700 in cash as proceeds of the illegal activity pursuant to state forfeiture guidelines.
