WLB resident to head fort reuse agency Full-time executive director to earn $115K plus benefits BY SUE MORGAN Staff Writer
A U.S. Army veteran who once served at Fort Monmouth has been hired to manage the public-private entity that will oversee future uses of that military base upon its closing.
At its monthly meeting on Tuesday, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority voted unanimously to offer Frank Cosentino, of West Long Branch, the $115,000 post as the agency's executive director.
Cosentino, who was selected out of close to 20 applicants for the top position, accepted the offer that comes with a full state employee benefits package.
As the first of five employees who will eventually be hired by the authority, Cosentino will begin his new job on Monday inside office space at the Executive Suites building off Industrial Way in Eatontown.
Robert Lucky, chairman of the authority, pledged the support of the panel that Cosentino will report to once he begins working.
Cosentino was chosen over five other finalists based upon his experience in private industry and military record, according to Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo, an authority member who chairs the 10-member panel's personnel committee.
A Hunterdon County native, Cosentino, who moved to the area about a year ago, is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
