Frequently, abused and neglected children are taken from their homes and placed into temporary foster care because their parents cannot, or will not, take care of them. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Monmouth trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in court and help them find safe, permanent homes where they can thrive. To find out more about CASA and the variety of ways to become involved, attend the free information session, "Coffee with CASA," at Panera Bread Co., 1050 Shrewsbury Ave., Shrewsbury, on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. To R.S.V.P., call Melissa Orr at (732) 660-0015.
