Obituaries Caroline Anne Gannon Caroline Anne Buchakowski Gannon, 99, of Long Branch, died April 11 in Long Branch. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., she resided in Tucson and San Diego, before retiring to the Jersey Shore. She attended St. Lucy's High School, Rochester. When she was teenager, she lost both parents, and raised four younger brothers. In 1933, she eloped with Edward Gannon, a grid star and Realtor, and while he served in WWII, she paid off the mortgage. When he was told, he threw his Army cap in the air and whirled her around their living room. She was a seamstress for Learbrury Clothes and a saleswoman and notary for Gannon Realty. She was a kind, energetic person, and even more, religious. She practiced the art of mischief for 100 years. She was predeceased by her husband and her brothers, Francis, Stanley, Peter and Paul. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and her daughter, Judith Gannon of Long Branch, who believes on the afternoon of April 11, Ed Gannon threw his cap in the air. A funeral service was held at Holy Cross Church, Syracuse, N.Y., followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Syracuse. Arrangements were by Farone & Son, Syracuse.
Lolita Mijares Gongora Mrs. Gongora, 75, of Red Bank, died April 14 at home. Born in the Philippines, she moved to the United States in 1955. She was employed in the housekeeping and dietary departments at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, for several years, retiring in 1998. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Fil-American Club, and received her bachelor of science degree at Luzon University. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Simon; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Simon Gongora Jr. of Clifton, Dave and Diane Gongora of Shallotte, N.C., and Patrick Gongora of Red Bank; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Theresa Holland of Bonita Springs, Fla., Esther Anstine-Smith and James Van Cleave of Stafford Va., Ruth Sallie and Stan Tillman of Rumson, and Magdalene and James Hutton of Barnegat; seven brothers, Cesar Mijares of Morristown; Aristoteles Mijares of Ocean Township; Rufino Mijares of Quezon City, Philippines; Daniel Mijares of Orlando, Fla.; Angel Mijares of Neptune; Rizal Mijares of Eatontown; and Catalino Mijares Jr. of Mililani, Hawaii; four sisters, Donatela Parajas of West Park, N.Y., Remedios Odon and Aurora Regaspi, both of Ocean Township, and Angelina Corpuz of Neptune; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection was at St. Anthony's Church. Interment was at Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. Janet L. Bol Miss Bol, 64, of Fair Haven, died April 29 at her sister's home in Wesley Chapel, Fla., following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Fair Haven the past 23 years. She was a retired educator, and was recognized as a teacher of the Holocaust at the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District for 35 years. She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Keyport. She enjoyed travel, and studied the Holocaust at Yad Vashem, Israel. She also enjoyed gardening and golf. She is survived by a brother, Pete Bol of Edinboro, Pa., and a sister, Judith Bol of Wesley Chapel, Fla. A funeral service was held at Gethsemane Church. Interment was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
