The Fair Haven Monmouth Youth fifth-grade girls basketball team defeated Brick, Colts Neck and Little Silver to capture first place at the Colts Neck Derby, which took place the weekends of Jan. 7 and 13. The team is Lynn Volker, Nikki Armstrong, Babe Aurichio, Emily Volker, Annie Gilbertson, Annie Ladd, Kelsey Cuje, Maggie Oberle, Jordyn Blaney, Hope LoPresti, Elizabeth Trocchia, Sadie Ahimovic, Suzanne McHeffey and Caleigh Farragher. Head coach is Peter Ahimovic, who is assisted by Frank Aurichio and Chuck Volker.

Fair Haven Baseball will hold registration for the 2006 season at the Youth Center on Saturday, from 9 a.m.-noon; and Jan. 31, 7-9 p.m.
