 | | Students visit JSUMC

| Third-grade students at the Betty McElmon School in West Long Branch recently paid a visit to the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC) in Neptune. During the visit, Dr. Eduardo R. Bautista, pediatrician, demonstrated how an oxygen mask is used. The class also took a guided tour of the hospital’s pediatric Emergency Department, pediatric intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit.

The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce will host its 72nd annual Awards Dinner March 11 at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa on Ocean Boulevard.
This year’s recipients of the Louis G. Libutti Community Service Award are Dr. Gabor Barabas and SuzAnne Barabas, founders of New Jersey Repertory Co., and Jacob L. Jones, director of the Long Branch
Office of Community and Economic Development.
The chamber will also present the President’s Award, Invest in Long Branch Award and the Business Improvement Awards.
The event will include a silent auction, and the dinner committee is requesting gift donations.

The Coastal Monmouth Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse, which provides Long Branch, Oceanport and West Long Branch community members with prevention, intervention and referral services, will meet 6-7:30 p.m. at the following places and dates this year:
Feb. 9 at the Maple Place School library in Oceanport; March 9 at the Shore Regional High School cafeteria in West Long Branch; April 13 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch; and May 11 at the Maple Place School library.
