Community Bulletin Board Tickets now available for ‘Culinary Adventure’
CPC Behavioral Healthcare of Middletown will hold its “Culinary Adventure” Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at The Sheraton, Industrial Way,. Eatontown.
The event will begin with a cooking demonstration and presentation by Hazlet native David Burke, award-winning chef and co-owner of davidburke & donatella, New York City. The event will also feature a book signing of “Cooking with David Burke,” CPC’s annual quilt raffle, silent and gift auctions, and live music by Dave Miller of the Jam Pact band.
The food and wine tasting will feature foods from area restaurants Creative Caterers in Ocean; davidburke & donatella in New York City; Edible Arrangements in Ocean Township; The Healthy Palate in Monmouth County; Joe & Maggie’s Bistro in Long Branch; Iguana Catering in Red Bank; The Melting Pot in Red Bank; Midtown Restaurant in Middletown; Rigoletto Trattoria in Middletown; Rodney Strong Vineyards in California; Salt Creek Grille in Rumson; Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe in Middletown; SAWA in Eatontown; Tuzzio’s Italian Cuisine in Long Branch; and Whole Foods Market in Middletown.
Cooking demonstration tickets are $45, $65 for the tasting party, and $100 for both events. Advance registration is required. Sponsorships and journal ads are also being accepted. Auxiliary of IAMA gift auction Nov. 5
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Italian American Men’s Association (IAMA), 195 West End Ave., Long Branch, will hold a gift auction Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). Donation is $10 and snacks and desserts will be served.

Registration under way for ‘180 Turnaround’
180 Turning Live Around, Hazlet, will hold “The 180 Turnaround: Taking Steps to End Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault” Oct. 23 at Taylor Pavilion, Belmar. Check in for the walk will be at 9 a.m.
The 3-mile walk will be along Belmar Boardwalk. Participants raising $25 or more in pledges will receive a T-shirt and be eligible for a raffle drawing. Proceeds will benefit 180’s effort to help end domestic violence and sexual assault in Monmouth County. The event will feature music, entertainment, bagpipes, and prizes. Registration is free for children younger than age 12.

‘Strut Your Mutt’ dog
costume contest Oct. 16
The Friends of the Parks of the Monmouth County Park System will hold its “Strut Your Mutt” dog costume contest and pet fair Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Thompson Park Day held at the park on Newman Springs Road, Lincroft section of Middletown.
Entry fee for the costume contest is $12 for nonmembers of Friends of the Parks and $10 for members, with proceeds benefiting park projects and programs. The contest is open to vaccinated dogs ages 4 months or older; trophies will be awarded for first place in five costume categories.

‘Masquerade Ball’ to raise funds for children
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County, Eatontown, will hold its seventh annual ball, “A Masquerade Ball — A Night in Venice,” Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holmdel residence of Valeria and Luiz Ribeiro.
Guests are encouraged to come wearing masks. The event will feature various foods, Venetian martinis, Venetian desserts and liqueurs, dancing to music by The Tides, goodie bags, and silent and live auctions.
Guests who purchased the agency’s inaugural “MatchBook” will also receive the book, which contains personal essays from BBBS’s children. Interested individuals may purchase “MatchBook” for $50 each. A raffle will also be held, with a grand prize of a four-night, five-day spa vacation. Tickets are $25 each.
Tickets to attend the ball are $150 each, and sponsorship opportunities are still available, ranging from $750-$2,500. High School Oct. 13
St. Rose High School, 607 Seventh Ave., Belmar, will hold an open house for students, parents and families Oct. 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Students, faculty and coaches will be available to answer questions, and tours will be conducted all evening.
