The staff of Sea Girt Animal Hospital will hold a Dog Wash Sept. 27 and 28 to benefit the pets left homeless by Hurricane Katrina. Dogs in need of a bath may be dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. Dogs must be current with their vaccinations.

A donation of $25 cash is requested and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to shelters caring for animal victims of the hurricane and in support of efforts to reunite pets with their families. The staff is also collecting blankets, dog and cat food and other supplies until Sept. 28 to send to the facilities caring for the animals.

For a list of the items that are needed, log on to www.seagirtanimalhospital.com.

For an appointment for the Dog Wash, call (732) 449-9224. The hospital is located at 2129 Route 35 in Sea Girt, across from Wall Family Medical.
