The Ocean Chapter of Drifters Inc. will sponsor the Ebony Fashion Fair on

Sept. 17 at Pollak Theatre, Monmouth University in West Long Branch. The show will begin at 8 p.m. and proceeds from the event will benefit the United Negro College Fund and local scholarships.

Celebrate National Hispanic/Latino Heritage month at the Long Branch Free Public Library-Main Branch at 328 Broadway. “Fiesta at Your Library” will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 1-5 p.m. Tours of the library will be held throughout the day in English, Spanish and Portuguese. At 2 p.m., Christopher Volpe, a Long Branch Middle School teacher, will be recognized for his outstanding contribution to the community.

There will be piñata raffles, food, crafts, music and much more.

The Ocean Township Community 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held on Oct. 1 starting at 9 a.m. in Joe Palaia Park. The proceeds benefit the Community Celebration Scholarship Fund. The $15 entry fee includes a T-shirt. For information, contact Donna at (732) 531-5000, ext. 401.

The Monmouth Park Charity Fund Board of Directors will hold its second annual Ladies Golf outing, sponsored by Meridian Health, on Sept. 26 at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune.

The event will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 6:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

The entry fee of $150, includes breakfast, greens fees, golf cart, golfers’ gifts, post tournament lunch and awards.

All proceeds will benefit 50 nonprofit agencies of Monmouth County and all players will have the opportunity to win a hole-in-one prize of a new car sponsored by Circle Chevrolet of Eatontown.

The Power of Christ’s Gospel Ministries Inc., Long Branch, will host its third annual “Stepping Into Destiny: Purpose-Driven Encounter” from Sept. 28 through Oct. 1 at the church at 344 Joline Ave.

The encounter will consist of three evenings of anointed services from Sept. 28-30 at 7:30 p.m. and on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Long Branch Historical Association will meet Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at city hall at 344 Broadway.

The meeting will feature a presentation on the New Jersey Museum of Transportation’s ongoing project of documenting the sunken locomotives in waters 5 miles off the coast of Long Branch.

The Long Branch Coalition of Condominium Associations will meet Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Ocean Plaza Condominium Association’s Community Room at 525 Ocean Blvd.

Issues to be discussed include property taxes, bill S-2016, pay-to-play bill S-1987 and lighting and snow removal refunds.
