Police arrest man for trespass

LONG BRANCH — An Asbury Park man was arrested in Long Branch last week for trespassing on Federal Housing Authority property, according to police reports.

Two Long Branch police officers were patrolling the area of the Garfield Court housing complex on May 2 at approximately 8:30 p.m. when they observed a subject they knew was not permitted on the grounds, Detective Lt. Bruce Johantgen said.

Trevor Stovall, 26, was found to have outstanding warrants from the Long Branch and Neptune municipal courts, he said.

He was also allegedly found in possession of a portable digital scale, over a half-ounce of cocaine and approximately $400 cash, Johantgen said.

Stovall was charged with defiant trespass, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of a CDS with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute on federal property, possession with intent to distribute within a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Johantgen.

Stovall was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold and bail was set at $27,500 with no 10 percent option, according to reports.
