Boro extends thanks for help during disaster
On behalf of the Eatontown Fire Department, Eaton-town First Aid Squad, Eatontown Office of Emergency Management, and Eatontown Police Department, we would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the many agencies and organizations that responded to the Petco store explosion March 4.
It was clear from the outside that the magnitude of this unfortunate incident would demand assistance from a wide variety of outside agencies. Without the aid of so many, the successful conclusion achieved would not have been possible.
Although we hope to express our gratitude to all who responded, we apologize in advance to those who may have been inadvertently omitted from the following list. Such an oversight in no way diminishes our appreciation for those who gave so much.
We thank: Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office, Fort Monmouth Fire Department, New Jersey State Police Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team, Naval Weapons Station Earle Fire Department, Middletown Fire Department, Long Branch Fire Department, Neptune Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management, West Long Branch Fire Department and First Aid Squad, Red Bank Fire Department and First Aid Squad, Tinton Falls Fire Department and First Aid Squad, Monmouth County Police Radio, Monmouth County EMS, MONOC EMS, and Oceanport Fire Department and First Aid Squad.
Thanks also to Shrewsbury First Aid Squad, Oakhurst First Aid Squad, New Jersey State Police, Tinton Falls Police Department, Township of Ocean Police Department, West Long Branch Police Department, Asbury Park Police Department, Long Branch Police Department, Monmouth University Police Department, Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Associated Humane Society, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Popcorn Park Zoo, Calvary Church–Old Bridge, Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Pathmark, Quizno’s, Chick-Fil-A, and Dunkin’ Donuts.
It is gratifying to know we in Eatontown can count on the prompt and professional help of so many neighboring organizations in our times of need. In addition to the lengthy list of agencies that responded March 4, we would also like to recognize the professional and heroic actions of our own personnel.
The Eatontown police officers, firefighters, first aiders, and emergency management personnel who responded to this unfortunate event met the challenges it presented swiftly and decisively. The residents of Eatontown should take comfort in knowing their safety is in the hands of such dedicated professionals.
