Entries now accepted for Sgt. Pat’s 5K

Jersey Shore Running Club (JSRC), Shrewsbury, will present the 16th annual Sgt. Pat’s 5K March 26 at 11 a.m. at the promenade and boardwalk in Long Branch. Registration fee before $20 is $17 and $15 for JSRC members.

There will also be a 2-mile fitness walk, and children’s races of various distances. The 5K is completely flat and fast. The event is named for slain Long Branch Police Officer Sgt. Patrick King. Proceeds benefit Holiday Express, the Patrick King scholarship funds for a graduate of Long Branch High School and Shore Regional High School, and PBA Local No. 10, Long Branch, and No. 364, Oceanport. Several awards will be given in various categories.
