Obituaries Michael Brofman Gartenberg Mr. Gartenberg, 53, of Atlantic Highlands, died Feb. 11 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in New York City, he resided in the Long Branch area 21 years prior to moving to Atlantic Highlands. He owned Best of Nature Massage Supply Superstore, Long Branch. Prior to that, he and his wife owned and operated the Relax Institute for Massage Therapy, Red Bank. He enjoyed cooking, time with his family, and citizen activism in Long Branch. He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Bernard Gartenberg; his stepfather, Joseph Brofman; and a brother, Miles Gartenberg. He is survived by his wife, Julie Raica; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Elaine Gartenberg; a stepbrother and his wife, Martin and Annick Brofman; and several nieces and nephews. Lenore R. Hesse Colmorgan Mrs. Colmorgan, 81, of Oceanport, died Feb. 14 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Plainfield, she had been a resident of Oceanport for the past 50 years. Mrs. Colmorgan was a draftsperson at E.A.I, Eatontown, where she was employed 10 years before retiring. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Reformation, West Long Branch. She was a founding member of the Oceanport Library. Mrs. Colmorgan was predeceased by a son, Wallace “Skip” Colmorgan, in 2001. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wallace S. Colmorgan; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and William Nielson of Burlington, Ky.; and four grandchildren. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements. John M. O’Horo Mr. O’Horo, 82, of West Long Branch, died Feb. 23 at Geraldine Thompson Nursing Home, Wall. Born in Canton, N.Y., he resided in Califon prior to moving to West Long Branch in 1966. He was an electrical engineer at Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, for 33 years, retiring in 1984. He served his county honorably in the U.S. Army. He served as a volunteer for 25 years with The Arc of Monmouth, Tinton Falls, served five years as its president, and was named the 1986 Volunteer of the Year. He was also a past president of the Califon Board of Education. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances M. O’Horo in 2002. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas J. and Holly O’Horo of Long Branch, Steven and Margaret O’Horo of West Long Branch, and Robert W. O’Horo of the Wayside section of Ocean Township; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Mary Laugelli Coldon Mrs. Coldon, 85, of Eatontown, and formerly Long Branch, died Feb. 17 at Jersey Shore Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Coldon was a secretary at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 25 years before retiring. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Mrs. Coldon was predeceased by her husband, George Coldon, in 1985. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Rosemary Coldon of Howell; a grandson; one niece; and two nephews. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, was in charge of arrangements.
