Italian-American group
to host casino trip

The Italian American Men’s Association (IAMA) Ladies Auxiliary, Long Branch, will sponsor a bus trip to Showboat Casino, Atlantic City, Aug. 28 from 2-11 p.m. The cost is $20, with a $10 return. The bus will leave from the IAMA, 195 W. End Ave.

Volunteers, walkers sought for heart walk

The American Heart Association is now seeking volunteers and participants for its 13th annual heart walk, "Step Out, Save Lives! Exercise Your Heart" scheduled for Sept. 26. The walk will be at eight locations statewide, with the Monmouth-Ocean shoreline walk locally in Belmar.

Volunteers are needed to set up and take down signs, tables and chairs; perform check in and registration; as performers and entertainers; for photography; to distribute food, beverages and other items to walkers; and to take part in the community health fair.
