Harold "Butch" John Potosky

Mr. Potosky, 55, of Matawan died Feb. 26 at his parents’ home in Matawan. Born in Red Bank, he resided in Matawan most of his life. He was an auto mechanic at Stillwell Garage, Matawan, before his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received a Bronze Star. Mr. Potosky is survived by a son, Steven Potosky of Keansburg; his parents, June and Harry Potosky of Matawan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Kevin Bonafide of Monmouth Beach, and Janet and Carmen Centimole of Farmingdale; and a brother, Russell Potosky of Marlboro. A funeral service with military honors took place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

Edward Washileski

Mr. Washileski, of Middletown, died March 13 at Green Acres, Fla. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Middletown the past 50 years. He was an electrical engineer for the U.S. Government at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, before his retirement. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He enjoyed golf, swimming, cycling and travel. Mr. Washileski was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie Raeder, in 1998; and two sisters, Rose Duwe and Helen Dral. He is survived by his wife of 11 yeas, Helen Rayan Washileski; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and James Bradberry of St. David’s, Pa., and Susan and Robert Crawford of Chester Springs, Pa.; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
