Hospital offering programs at SCAN

Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, will offer several group meetings and programs in October at SCAN Learning Center, Eatontown. A widow/widower group will meet Oct. 2 from 1-3 p.m.

A Parkinson’s disease support group will meet Oct. 3 from 10 a.m.-noon. Patients may participate in "Ease Into Exercise" from 11 a.m.-noon, and there is a $3 fee for the class. Monmouth Easy Breathers adult pulmonary support group will meet Oct. 3 from 2-3:30 p.m.

A blood pressure screening will be Oct. 9 from 12:30-2 p.m. (no registration required).

A program on breast cancer awareness will be Oct. 16 from 1-3 p.m. "Optimum Weight for Your Health" will be presented by a Monmouth internist Oct. 21 from 1-3 p.m.

"Depression: Recognizing the Signs and Seeking Treatment" will be presented Oct. 23 from 1-3 p.m. "Let’s Talk About Prescription Medications" will be presented Oct. 30 from 1-3 p.m.

Registration is required unless otherwise indicated. All the above are free for SCAN members, and membership is free for individuals age 50 and older.
