HAZEL E. CLARK, 93, of Vero Beach, Fla., and formerly Long Branch, died Nov. 10 at her daughter’s home in Vero Beach. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Long Branch until moving to Vero Beach 30 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Long Branch, as well as the Sharpe Circle at the church. She was a graduate of Coleman’s Business College, Newark. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Maher of Vero Beach, and Shirley Rafferty of Long Branch; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. CLARENCE F. "MONTY" MONTGOMERY, 82, of Long Branch died Nov. 13 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Temple, Texas, he was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. He was a retired insurance investigator for Maryland Casualty Insurance for 15 years, retiring 20 years ago. Prior to that, he was employed by the Long Branch Police Dept. PBA Local No. 10. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the National Guard Reserves, as well as a member of the Long Branch Chapter of Deborah Hospital. He is survived by his wife, America M. Anastasia Montgomery of Long Branch; two sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and Carol Montgomery of Port Charlotte, Fla., and William N. and Nancy Montgomery of West Long Branch; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. JAMES J. "JIM" McEVOY, 72, of Middletown died Nov. 15 at home. Born in Newark, he lived in West Long Branch prior to moving to Middletown 23 years ago. He was a salesman for B&B Beverage, Long Branch, retiring in 1990. Prior to that he was a life insurance salesman and liability adjuster. He served with the U.S. Army in its counter intelligence corps during the Korean War. He was a former communicant as well as an usher and member of the Holy Name Society at St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. He was active at St. Jerome’s Grammar School, serving as a basketball coach, assistant baseball coach for its Little League team, and helping with Pop Warner football. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia J. Mulvaney McEvoy of Middletown; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James J. and Sally L. McEvoy Jr. of Ocean Township, Kevin M. McEvoy of Long Branch, and Michael J. and Lorraine P. McEvoy of Rumson; his daughter, Mary Beth McEvoy of Long Branch; two stepsons; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown. PATRICIA ANN KEENAN SCHWARZ, 65, of Long Branch died Oct. 10 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Red Bank, she lived in Sea Bright prior to moving to Long Branch three years ago. She was the retired owner and operator of Nannie’s Deli & Sub Shop, Long Branch, for 10 years, retiring in 1955. She was a member of the Sea Bright Fire Ladies, as well as an avid bingo player and traveler. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Rodney Keenan of Middletown. She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Vicky Schwarz of Long Branch; Fritz Schwarz of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Kirt Schwarz of North Bergen; three daughters and two sons-in-law, DeAnne and Geoffrey Nesbitt of Randolph, Colleen and Thomas Aleo of Reno, Nev., and Cheryl Schwarz of Highlands; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Joan Keenan Jr. of Eatontown; her sister, Marguerite Estelle of Deal; her sister-in-law, Mary Keenan of Middletown; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A funeral liturgy was offered at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

MARGARET E. LALLI, 87, of Red Bank died Nov. 10 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Red Bank. Born in Scranton, Pa., she had lived in Asbury Park before relocating to Red Bank more than 50 years ago. Mrs. Lalli was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J.; and a son, Thomas J. Lalli, both in 1998. Mrs. Lalli is survived by a daughter-in-law, Patricia M. Lalli of Monmouth Beach; a sister-in-law; and a niece. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Church, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

JOHN C. BRAZAS, 54, of Middletown died Oct. 22 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown, from complications of Pick’s disease. Born in Monmouth Beach, he lived there for 31 years prior to moving to Middletown. He was a licensed electrical contractor and the founder and president of John Brazas Inc. Prior to that he worked for the Ranney School, Tinton Falls. He was a communicant of the Church of The Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. His civic activities included former chief and a life member of the Monmouth Beach Fire Department, a member of the Monmouth Beach First Aid Squad, and special police officer as well as the civil defense director of Monmouth Beach. He also restored old military vehicles rescued from swollen tides in Monmouth Beach, most notably the "Muck Duck." He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Malley in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kathleen Healy Brazas of Middletown; his sister, Dorothea Pierce of Long Branch; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at The Church of The Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Memorial donations may be made to the Monmouth Beach Fire Department of the Monmouth Beach First Aid Squad.

PATRICIA A. REIDY, 71, of Red Bank died Nov. 7 at home. Born in Jersey City, she lived in the Belford section of Middletown prior to moving to Red Bank four years ago. She was a data entry person for Prudential Insurance Co., Holmdel, for 15 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Adorers at the Adoration Chapel at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Reidy in 1983. She is survived by her son, Patrick Reidy of Highlands; her sister, Blanche Schulz of Toms River; and her brother, Charles Lennon of Avon. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth. Burial was at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Department, Riverview Medical Center, 1 Riverview Plaza, Red Bank 07701.
